Recovery after a caesarean doesn't stop once the scar has closed.
C-Section Recovery: 8-Week Return to Movement Course
Recovery after a caesarean doesn't stop once the scar has closed. Your core, pelvic floor and the tissue around your scar all need time and the right support to rebuild strength and connection. Over eight weeks, we'll work step by step from reconnecting with your breath and deep core to rebuilding strength, posture and stability. You'll trust your body again in everyday life, whether you're lifting your baby, carrying the car seat or getting back to the exercise you love.

Course Information
This course structured course guides you gently from recovery back to movement, one step at a time. Each week builds on the last. We start by reconnecting with your breath, deep core and pelvic floor, then gradually add strength, stability and confidence in everyday movement. Every session is scar-aware and shaped around how your body is feeling, so you can move forward at a pace that feels right for you. By the end, you'll have a strong foundation, a better understanding of your body after birth.

Frequently Asked Questions
When can I start the programme?
You can join once you've had your 8-week postnatal check, been signed off by your GP, and your scar has fully healed. Some women feel ready soon after, and others prefer to wait a little longer.
My caesarean was months (or years) ago. Is this still for me?
Yes. It's never too late to reconnect with your core and your scar. Many women find this support helpful long after birth.
Do I need to be fit or have exercised before?
Not at all. The programme starts gently with breath and core reconnection and builds gradually, so it works for any starting point.
What is "scar-aware" movement?
It means every exercise takes your scar and the surrounding tissue into account. Movements are chosen and progressed to support healing tissue, improve comfort and help you feel more connected to that area of your body.
I still have numbness, tightness or sensitivity around my scar. Can I join?
These are common after a caesarean, and the programme is designed with them in mind. If you have pain, or have any concerns, please contact me to chat first.
Can I do this if I'm breastfeeding?
Yes. We'll also look at posture and comfort for feeding, lifting and carrying.
Can I bring my baby?
Babies are welcome in sessions.
What happens after the 8 weeks?
By the end of the programme you'll have a strong foundation and a clear plan for returning to the exercise you enjoy, whether that's running, the gym or classes. Follow-on sessions coming soon to Nurtura Collective.
Will I see a difference in how my tummy looks?
The focus is on function, strength and confidence rather than appearance. Many women find they feel more supported and comfortable in their body, but results vary from person to person. I also offer Scar Therapy if you have concerns on scar apperance.
Real Experiences
"I didn't realise how much fear and tension I'd been carrying. By the first session it was great to breathe again! by the third session I felt confident to move with ease."
